Using Midmap

These Terms of Service apply to your installation and use of the Midmap desktop app. By using Midmap, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, stop using and remove the app.

Midmap is a local canvas for organizing information and working with agents. Features, compatibility, and availability may change between versions.

Local data and backups

Midmap does not require an account, and board data is stored on your device. You are responsible for securing your device, managing local files, and keeping appropriate backups. Data lost through device failure, accidental deletion, or other local causes may not be recoverable.

Agents and third-party services

Midmap does not include a built-in agent or AI model. You install and configure compatible agent apps yourself. Once connected, an agent app can read or edit boards through the local MCP service. You should review agent actions and understand how the app and its provider handle content you choose to share. Third-party apps and services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

Anonymous usage analytics

Anonymous usage analytics is enabled by default and can be turned off under Settings > General. When enabled, Midmap sends events such as app launches, successful board creation, and new agent operation notification groups, together with a pseudonymous installation identifier, for product usage analysis. Events are retained for 30 days. Analytics does not include board content, prompts, messages, or error stacks. See the Midmap Privacy Policy for details.

Acceptable use

You may not use Midmap to violate applicable law or others’ rights, compromise the app or its security, or interfere with others’ use. You must have the necessary rights or authorization for board content, links, and content you send to agents.

Agent outputs

Agent-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your purposes. Verify it before use and take responsibility for decisions based on it. Midmap does not replace professional advice and does not guarantee the accuracy, availability, or continuity of agent outputs or third-party services.

Software rights

Rights in the Midmap app and its branding belong to their respective rights holders. These terms do not transfer those rights. You retain the rights you hold in board content you create.

Changes and contact

These terms may be updated as app features or applicable requirements change. Updated terms will be published on this page.
