Information stored on your device
Midmap does not require an account. Boards, nodes, content, messages, operation history, and app settings are stored on your device and are not uploaded to a Midmap cloud service.
When you connect a compatible agent app, it can read or edit boards through Midmap’s local MCP service. Content you choose to send to an agent app and its provider is subject to their privacy policies. The MCP service listens only on the local loopback interface and requires Midmap to be running.
Anonymous usage analytics
Anonymous usage analytics is enabled by default and can be turned off under Settings > General. When enabled, Midmap sends these events to the project’s self-hosted OpenPanel analytics service to understand app usage:

Events include the app version and a stable random installation identifier generated on the device and stored in the app configuration. The identifier distinguishes an installation and does not contain a name, email address, or account information. The OpenPanel SDK also processes routine session and technical information, such as client platform information and network request metadata. The self-hosted service does not retain raw IP addresses or perform geolocation analysis.
Analytics does not include board content, prompts, messages, agent tool names, parameters, results, or error stacks. Automatic page, link, and attribute tracking and session replay are disabled.
Analytics events are retained for 30 days. Turning analytics off stops Midmap from sending later events; requests already sent or queued cannot be recalled.
Crash diagnostics
Crash diagnostics are collected only in app versions where this feature has been implemented and enabled. When enabled, Midmap collects crash reports and related app version, device, and operating system diagnostic information to investigate and fix stability issues. These reports are retained for 30 days. Versions without this feature enabled do not send crash reports.
Your choices and contact
You can turn off anonymous usage analytics at any time under Settings > General. Board data is stored on your device and remains under your control.
